Bharat Web3 Association signs MoU with Maharashtra State Skills University to develop ecosystem

As India prepares itself to get its own crypto laws in December, many states in the country are rushing to position themselves as attractive locations for entrants to the Web3 to set up their shops. Taking steps. Recently, a group of crypto-focused industry players from India called Bharat Web3 Association (BWA) has signed an MoU with Maharashtra State Skills University (MSSU). This partnership aims to prepare Maharashtra to host the Web3 ecosystem that includes players from cryptocurrency, NFTs, and the metaverse, among other sectors.

This MoU was announced on Wednesday, November 15. Going forward, both parties involved will engage in initiatives around skill enhancement, education and research in the Web3 sector while preparing young Indians for employment in this sector.

“This MoU reflects our shared commitment to advance the Web3 ecosystem in India through a blend of academic excellence and industry skills. As we move forward on this journey, India Web3 Association is excited about the possibilities that lie ahead, envisioning a future where skilled talent thrives and contributes to the digital economy of our country,” said Dilip, President, BWA. Commenting on the development, Chenoy said.

BWA has many crypto players like Coinswitch and CoinDCX as members. Formed in December 2021, the organization aims to bridge the gap between the crypto industry as well as the policy makers of the country.

In a 2022 report, Nasscom had said that 11 percent of the world’s Web3 talent, especially developers, resides in India. Therefore, it seems natural for Mumbai-based MSSU to show interest in training students in Web3 branches that can get them jobs quicker than other competitive tech sectors.

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government is also trying to test the Web3 waters. It is already trying to add NFTs to its health data storage using the Algorand blockchain. Last year, the Revenue Department of Maharashtra decided to migrate all records to the blockchain to ensure that they are tamper-proof.
