Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 can be bundled with the PS5 Slim Disc Edition for free

Sony announced a slimmer, lighter refresh of the PlayStation 5 last month, bringing new design changes that help the console shed its bulky signature. The PS5 Slim, which now comes with a redesigned side panel that allows you to add a detachable external Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc drive to the digital version of the console, is set to be released this month. While Sony hasn’t announced an official release date, both the disc and digital versions of the new PS5 Slim will reportedly go on sale in the US on November 10 and may come in a Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 bundle. Now, the PS5 Slim Disc Edition is also being bundled with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. According to a Call of Duty news portal, Activision’s upcoming shooter is set to be bundled with the console for free.

The Modern Warfare 3 cross-gen bundle, coming on November 10, is priced at $70 (₹5,599 in India). playstation store, but fans may be able to pick it up for free as part of the PlayStation 5 Slim Disc Edition – Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III bundle. According to popular Call of Duty news site CharlieIntel, the MW3 PS5 Slim Bundle will be available on November 10th for $499. The disc version of the PS5 Slim costs $499, so this game is a free addition to the bundle.

CharlieIntel posted an alleged image of a new Call of Duty ad, which shows the game bundled with the PS5 Slim Disc Edition for $499 (roughly Rs. 41,577). The bundle will likely be available in the US, but there is no doubt about its availability in India. PlayStation and Activision have yet to officially confirm the bundle, but if a MW3 PS5 Slim bundle comes, as a free extra with the game, it would be a surprising development. The next Call of Duty title is one of the biggest game releases of the year and it doesn’t seem like it will be bundled with the PS5 for free. However, it could be a possibility that Sony is willing to sell its slimmer version of the PS5 at a lower price with the next COD title to boost holiday season sales.

Call of Duty maker Activision was recently acquired by Sony rival Microsoft, with the Xbox parent receiving approval from the US FTC and the UK’s CMA for the $69 billion deal. However, Xbox CEO Phil Spencer confirmed last month that Call of Duty and other Activision Blizzard games won’t appear on Xbox Game Pass until next year. Activision Blizzard also previously said at X that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III would not be coming to Game Pass any time soon.

The PS5 Slim, which is scheduled to launch in the US around the same time as MW3, will reportedly come as part of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, priced at $559.99 (roughly Rs. 46,651). The Spider-Man 2 bundle, which is said to release on November 8, will also include a disc version of the PS5 Slim.

The PS5 Slim sees a reduction of more than 30 percent in volume and 18 percent and 24 percent in weight, respectively, compared to the original PS5’s disc and digital versions. While the processing power and graphical capabilities of the PS5 Slim remain the same as the original PS5, the mid-gen refresh of the console gets slightly larger internal storage from an 825GB custom SSD to 1TB. The disc version of the redesigned PS5 Slim has been priced at $499.99 (roughly Rs. 41,615), but the price of the digital version has increased by $50 and will cost $449.99 (roughly Rs. 37,452), up from $399.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, meanwhile, is set to release on November 10 on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series S/X, and Xbox One. Pre-order subscribers of the digital edition will also get early access to the game’s campaign mode. And will be able to play the main story up to a week before release.
