Datatex is expanding its reach in India

Datatex, a leading provider of IT solutions for the textile industry based in Switzerland, is expanding its reach in the Indian market. The company inaugurated a new expansion office in Coimbatore, India.

In India, Datatex has been present since the early 2000s through a network of partners and dealers. In 2017, the company opened a direct office in Bengaluru, which currently employs more than sixty professionals. This office will work closely with the Indian headquarters in Bengaluru to better cater to the growing Indian textile industry that has adopted Datatex’s NOW ERP solution for managing their IT systems.

India, a global powerhouse in textile production with over 45 million people employed in the sector, is witnessing significant initiatives by the Government. The Central Government announced plans for seven new textile industrial mega-parks (PM-MITRA) in 2023, allocating nearly € 500 million in the 2023-2024 budget, representing a 22.6 percent increase from 2022. In addition, the launch of the development program (SAMARTH) aims to train more than one million new workers for the textile sector in the next three years. Projections show that India’s textile production will reach a GDP of US$250 billion and exports worth US$100 billion by 2025.

Datatex’s global presence now spans many countries, including the USA, China, India, Pakistan, Turkey, Italy, Israel, Serbia, and Germany.
