IndieLand 2023 Charity Event Happening This Week

IndieLand is back for 2023 with an all-digital event, celebrating the best indie games while raising money for dementia research. The event will run throughout the week, culminating in a 24-hour, 3-day stream from October 27 to 29.

After an opening stream last week, the next event on the IndieLand 2023 roster is tomorrow’s Midweek Special featuring the Super Beard Bros, starting at 1 PM PDT. The main event is IndieLand’s three-day marathon, which starts at 12 PM PDT on October 27 and runs until 10 PM PDT on October 29. The stream will include many special guests from indie developers to gaming influencers — including GameSpot’s own Tamoor Hussain and Lucy James.

In events running since 2018, IndieLand is run by Jirard “The Completionist” Khalil in collaboration with The Open Hand Foundation, a charity that supports dementia research. The activity of The donation page can be found here — streamers who want to help can also set up their own fundraiser to benefit the campaign.

The full list of games to be showcased at IndieLand 2023 can be found at its page on Steam, with many of the games also have a demo available for testing. We can expect a lot of news from the indie showcase, with the dev teams regularly joining the stream and unveiling new features. For one, Sonic Mania’s Evening Star Studio team said that IndieLand will see it debut the first look at gameplay for its upcoming platformer, Penny’s Big Breakaway.

The official streams will be hosted on The Completionist’s Twitch channel.
