The Nothing Phone 2A is speculated to be the UK-based OEM’s next smartphone, though the company is yet to confirm the phone or its moniker. When details of the third Nothing Phone surfaced online, given Nothing’s product cycle and leaked information, it was thought to be the Nothing Phone 2A, which is expected to be a cheaper, skimmed-down version of the Nothing Phone 2. Now a PVT unit leak of this alleged handset has hinted at the possible design of the phone and teased some of its key specifications. Information about its launch timeline and price has also been given.
Tipster Yogesh Brar (@heyitsyogesh) shared some possible specifications of the rumored Nothing Phone 2A on X (formerly Twitter). He said that the Nothing Phone 2A will be launched at the 2024 Mobile World Congress in February and will be priced at $400 (approximately Rs 33,200). In the images shared, we can see the alleged Nothing Phone 2A with a centered hole-punch display, while the back panel can be seen with a horizontal camera module placed at the top centre. This is a far cry from the design seen in other Nothing handsets.
According to the tipster, the Nothing Phone 2A is also likely to get a redesigned Glyph interface along with a revised back panel, which is said to offer the same glyph controls as the Nothing Phone 2. another tipster suggested The handset will have 3 glyph parts.
The tipster and the leaked images shared by him suggest that the Nothing Phone 2A may be equipped with a 120Hz OLED panel. The phone is said to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. It may come with Android 14-based NothingOS 2.5 and carry a 50-megapixel dual rear camera system. Earlier it was reported that it will come with a 6.7-inch AMOLED display.
However, it is advisable to take these specifications with a grain of salt as the leaked image shown on the About page shows the phone has a 1,000mAh battery, which is obviously wrong as it is much smaller than even the entry-level one. Smartphone works.
