Squash all those annoying Starfield bugs with this important community mod patch

Those waiting to be able to grab a Starfield mod that corrects many of the minor bugs and issues that Bethesda has yet to catch are in luck; the first community patch version of the game is here.

For those out of the loop, the mod, that was in the works from a theoretical standpoint before the game came out, it was similar in terms of scope and reference to Skyrim and Fallout 4’s unofficial patches. The mission statement of the team behind it, some of whom have also worked on previous projects, “to fix bugs, errors and other inconsistencies present in the game”, with the hope of improving the “experience of vanilla for all players.”

Version 0.0.1 of the patchwhich went live on Nexus Mods late yesterday, has a long list of changes, most of which were likely made thanks to issues highlighted by players in their submissions to official website of the mod. Among the most surprising tweaks this time around are a couple made to companion behavior.

One makes sure they don’t get mad at you for boarding enemy ships, while the other aims to make sure they recognize your character’s appearance changes. There’s also someone who can make sure that Neon Security won’t charge you with a bounty even if you haven’t been arrested, which is definitely useful if you’re looking to have a stress-free trip to the Astral Lounge.

Some of the changes included in this version may be more difficult to notice, unless you are familiar with the magazine sizes of your ship’s weapons or pay a lot of attention to making sure that certain skill ranks are does exactly what they say. in tin bonus-wise.

You can read the full list of changes in version 0.0.1 HERE and, if you experience a bug not covered here, check the current list of problem reports on the mod website HERE. As of writing, a whopping 324 potential issue tickets look open, so chances are whatever you see is already on the modders’ radar.
