The guide details what hardware you need to run the PC version of Alan Wake 2 and it’s pretty extensive.

Alan Wake 2, the long-awaited sequel to the original cult classic released in 2010, is finally coming on October 27. If you’re looking to get the game on PC then hopefully you’ve got some serious power under the hood because as the system requirements may leave many people unable to play.

Minimum (1080p, 30 fps, Low graphics preset):

  • GPU: GeForce RTX 2060 or Radeon RX 6600, 6GB VRAM

So, even targeting 30fps at 1080p will take a minimum of 16GB of RAM and an RTX 2060. Looking at the specs, it seems clear that the game will be GPU dependent as the CPU requirements and RAM are mostly static.

No wonder these specs have resulted in many people despairing that they are unable to run the game. Many people worry that the high requirements may suggest poor optimization, while others quietly accept the fact that they have to consider breaking some banks to upgrade their graphics cards. . Personally, I’m still running my trusty GT 1080ti which is somehow a great card in 2023.

Of course, console versions are always an option. Alan Wake launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S/X as well as PC on October 27.
